A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION AGENCY CLEAN-UP GRANTS" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR
ITS OPERATION IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000, CONSISTING OF A
GRANT AWARDED BY THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AGENCY, TO THE MODEL CITY COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION DISTRICT TRUST
("TRUST"); AUTHORIZING THE TRUST'S PRESIDENT/CEO TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT
AWARD.
WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA") has advised the Model
City Community Revitalization District Trust ("Trust") that it has been awarded a environmental clean
up grant for a site identified in a grant application to the EPA; and
WHEREAS, Section 12.5-29 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, provides
authority for the Trust to "solicit and accept grants, contributions and financial and non -financial
support from individuals, private business interests, the general public, governmental entities,
corporations and organizations, foundations and other philanthropic entities;" and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Trust accepted the funds on behalf of the Trust; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has requested that the City Commission appropriate said
funds for the purpose of conducting the environmental remediation and environmental education for
the public consistent with the work plan submitted to the EPA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted
by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in the Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are
appropriated as described herein:

Section 3. The appropriations are contingent upon funding by the EPA and the Trust's
acceptance.
Section 4. The Model City Trust President/CEO is authorized{1} to execute the necessary
documents to implement acceptance of said grant award.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
