These missions include barricaded subjects, hostage situations, high risk narcotics search warrants and clandestine marijuana hydroponics and drug Tabs. As communities face larger risks, the need for an armored defense vehicle to allow law enforcement to provide the necessary protection for their community has increased. The Lenco BearCat offers proven armored piercing (AP) ballistic protection and impressive mobility, allowing SWAT Teams to remain in full control of dangerous situations. The Lenco BearCat seats ten (10) officers with gear and features a rotating armored roof hatch with gun port, which can be used as a tactical shield. The hatch allows access to the vehicle's roof, which can be utilized as a second story rescue point or a tactical position. The vehicle is warranted for 3 years, 36,000 miles from Ford, and Lenco offers a 1-year limited warranty. The Lenco BearCat Armored Tactical Deployment & Rescue Vehicle has been budgeted under the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program III, FY 2004, in the amount of $188,000, and UASI Grant Program II, FY 2003, in the amount of $3,796.
