Purpose of Item:
Accepting the recommendation of the evaluation committee to negotiate and execute an agreement
with Parking Network Inc for the administration of the City of Miami's parking surcharge program.
Background Information:
The Legislature of the State of Florida has enacted legislation that allows municipalities with a
population of 300,000 or more and a declared financial emergency to implement a surcharge on
parking revenues generated within the municipality. The City of Miami enacted Ordinance No.
11813 adopted July 13, 1999, to implement such a surcharge on parking revenues.
