HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolutionCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.cl.miaml.fi.us File Number: 05-00602 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE, WITH PARCEL REVERTER PROVISIONS, OF CERTAIN CITY -OWNED PARCELS OF LAND, DESCRIBED IN "EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO ROCKWOOD PROPERTIES, LLC., FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FORTY (40) SINGLE FAMILY AFFORDABLE UNITS, TWENTY-ONE (21) TO BE SUBSIDIZED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI FOR ELIGIBLE LOW INCOME PERSONS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, there is a pressing need for decent, affordable housing in the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need for public and private sector participation to develop affordable housing for low and moderate income families and individuals; and WHEREAS, Rockwood Properties, LLC. has extensive experience in housing development; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The conveyance, with parcel reverter provisions, of certain City -owned parcels of land, described in "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated, to Rockwood Properties, LLC., for the development of forty (40) Single Family affordable units, twenty-one (21) to be subsidized by the City for eligible low income persons, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor {2}. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS- `JOR E . FER ANDEZ CITY ATTOR Y City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 6/21/2005 File Number: 05-00602 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10} calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
