Requesting Department: Finance/City Attorney Commission Meeting Date: 7/7/2005 District Impacted: Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Issuance of City of Miami Health Facitities Authority $25,800.000 Revenue Refunding Bonds Series 2005 (Miami Jewish Home and Hospital For The Aged) Purpose of Item: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the issuance of not to exceed $25,800,000 Health Facilities Authority Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2005 (Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged) (the "Refunding Bonds") for the purposes of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended; ratifying, confirming and approving the actions of the City of Miami Health Facilities Authority (the "Authority"); providing for an effective date. Background Information: The Authority has held a public hearing for the purpose of giving interested persons an opportunity to express their views in connection with the Authority's proposed issuance of not to exceed $25,800,000 City of Miami Health Facilities Revenue Refunding Bonds Series 2005(Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged) as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended.The proceeds of the Refunding Bonds will be used (a) to refinance and refund the Authority's outstanding (i)Health Facilities Revenue Bonds Series 1992(Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged Inc,Project) and (ii)Health Facilities Revenue Bonds Series 1996; (b) to capitalize a portion of the interest on the Refunding Bonds;and(c) to pay certain costs of issuance of the Refunding Bonds.
