via RSS or wirellne remote.
CONVENTIONAL REPEATER OR BASE STATION PROVIDES ANALOG AND ASTRO® CONVENTIONAL
OPERATION
• The PDR 3500 supplies APCO P25 CAI operation capabilities. The radio can only be configured to pass
Analog and ASTRO Digital (ASTRO 9.6kb mode), or Analog alone at one time. Mode changes are
accomplished via Radio Service Software (RSS). The PDR 3500 when In digital mode can only be
configured as transparent, Encode/decode is not available. ASTRO remote control operations require a
9.6kbps ASTRO Modem (Q504) and either a 2/4 Wire Wireline (Q502) or 13 WIre Wireline (Q506).
• Up to sixteen transmit and receive frequencies, coded squelch (PL or DPL), variable time -out -timer, push -to -
talk priority (ptt), repeater drop out delay, and Base Station ID are included as standard. These features ship
in a preset condition, but may be altered through the use of Radio Service Software (RSS). If the station is
ordered as s Repeater Operation (Q501), it will support either two antennas, or a single antenna if the
Duplexer (0245) Is ordered. If tie station is ordered as a Base Station Operations (H954), it will require an
Antenna Relay (Q463) and 2/4 Wire Wireline (Q502) or 8 Wire Wireline (Q506) MUST be ordered.
• For VHF and UHF base stations, transmit frequencies can be separated by the full frequency sub -band
selected, and receive frequencies can be separated up to 4,0MHz without degradation of specifications.
• For repeater operation, transmit, and receive frequencies can be separated by as little as 1 MHz without a
duplexer. When the Duplexer (Q245) is ordered then frequency separation between transmit and receive
must be as follows:

CONTRACT RENEWAL
Terra Contract No.02C-6ER was :awarded by Board action an October 17, 2001, to Antenna Specialists,
Car -Comm, Citation Communications, Express Radio, Mes industries, Multiplier Industries, and Motorola,
inc., for two years from October 13, 2001 through October 17, 2003 with the option to renew for two addi-
tional one-year periods.
By Board action on July 17, 2002, the estimated expenditure was increased by $750,000.
By Board action on September 17, 2003, the first option to renew the contract was exercised for the period
October 18, 2003 through October 17, 2004.
The second and final option to mriew is now being exercised for the period October .18, 2004 through
October 17, 2005.
Antenna Specialists, Car -Comm, Citation Communications, Express Radio, Mes Industries, Multiplier
Industries, and Motorola, Inc., hays agreed to honorterrns, conditions and pricing of existing contract for the
forthcoming contract period.
Items to be purchased 'include Portable and Mobile Radios, Repeater, Antennas and Batteries.
RECOMMENDATION: Based on satisfactory performance during the past contract period, It is
recommended that the Term Contract for Portable and Mobile Radios and
Accessories be renewed with Antenna Specialists, Car -Comm, Citation
Comm unications, Express Radio, Mes Industries, Multiplier Industries, and
Motor'c'Ia, Inc., for the period October 18, 2004 through October 17, 2005.

This is to advise you that the School District of Palm Beach County, Florida has accepted your
offer to renew Bid 02C-8ER to furnish equipment for the contract of Portableand Mobile Radios
and Accessories as per attached recommendation/tabulation. This is the second and final option
to renew. This acceptance issubject to compliance with bid specifications, terms and conditions,
all pertinent laws of the Stake of Florida and instructions as determined by the General Counsel for
the School Board.
Purchase orders will be issued to cover equipment as the need arises. The purchase order will be
your notilicadon to proceed. Do not proceed with the delivery of equipment until you have
received a purchase order. Failure to do so may result in non-payment.
