Subject: 50 Ft. Holiday Tree for Bayfront Park
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this contract is to establish an agreement for the provision of a 50 ft. holiday tree at
Bayfront Park for a term of five years. The cost is an amount not to exceed $178,548.31 over the
five-year term of the agreement.
Background Information:
The Bayfront Park Management Trust identified a need to create a holiday destination for Miami's
residents and visitors alike. To that end, the Trust considered the acquisition of a holiday tree. On
March 10, 2005, the City of Miami Purchasing Dept. (City) solicited proposals through RFLI No. 04-
05-032. Two responses were received by March 30, 2005. On March 12, 2005, the Bayfront Park
Management Trust Evaluation Committee (Committee) met to review the proposals. The City had
deemed one of those proposals unresponsive. The Committee reviewed the proposal submitted by
Christmas Designers and determined it to be the most responsive. The Committee therefore
reccommended awarding the bid to them.
