HomeMy WebLinkAboutsummary formDate: 5/25/2005 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FARM FILE ID: 0 5— 00 5 q o Requesting Department: Purchasing/Citvwide Commission Meeting Date: 7/7/2005 District Impacted: All Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ['Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Petroleum - Diesel Fuel Purpose of Item: The nature of this item is to establish a citywide contract for the provision of Petroleum — Diesel Fuel from various vendors, pursuant to the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group bids No. D104018B1 and No. 05-A-120F, effective through May 31, 2006, subject to any extensions or replacement contracts by the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group, to be utilized by various user departments on an as needed contract basis, at the firm markup above the Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) weekly fuel price. Allocating funds from the General Operating Budgets of the various user departments and agencies, authorizing said purchases, as needed, subject to availability of funds and budget approval at time of need. Background Information: For the past several years, approximately twenty-six (26) governmental entities have participated in Cooperative Purchasing in Southeast Florida. The Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Cooperative Group was formed in an effort to provide cost savings and cost avoidances to all entities by utilizing the buying power of combined requirements for common, basic goods and services. Broward County issued Bid No. D 10401 B 1 and the City of Coral Springs Bid No. 05-A-120F, on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Co-operative Group. Award was made to multiple vendors to ensure a continuous supply to all agencies, with an effective date of June 1, 2005 through May 31, 2006.
