JUSTIFICATION:
The Police Department is responsible for maintaining and caring for twelve (12) police horses
within the Mounted Unit. The requested feed and supplements are necessary to maintain the
proper diet for the continued good health and physical condition of each horse.

Two responses were received pursuant to Bid No. 04-05-050, for the provision of horse feed and
supplements. Sunset Feed & Supply, Inc., submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid,
in an annual amount of $19,956.93.
