A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "PROGRAMS FOR THE
DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED, 2005 -2006" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
FOR ITS OPERATION IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $237,396, CONSISTING OF A
GRANT FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA AGENCY FOR HEALTH CARE
ADMINISTRATION, MEDICAID PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, TO FUND
PROGRAMS FOR THE DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED, WHICH ARE
ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION THROUGH ITS PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES,
DURING THE PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2005 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2006; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AND TO
EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF
SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami's ("City's") Department of Parks and Recreation through its Programs
for Persons with Disabilities, has for the past twelve (12) years applied to the State of Florida Agency
for Healthcare Administration ("AHCA"), for funds to support its programs for the coming year; and
WHEREAS, AHCA will provide grant funding in the amount of $237,396 for services to be provided
to developmentally disabled individuals during the period of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORI DA:
Section 1. The recitals a.nd findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established as described below:
FUND TITLE: Programs for the Developmentally Disabled, 2005-2006
RESOURCES: AHCA, Medicaid Program Development $237,396
APPROPRIATION: Programs for the Developmentally Disabled, 2005-2006 $237,396
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept a grant in the total amount of $237,396,
from AHCA, Medicaid Program Development, to fund programs for the developmentally disabled,
which are administered by the City's Department of Parks and Recreation through its Program for
Persons with Disabilities, during the period of July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, and to execute the

necessary documents, to implement acceptance of said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes;
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City
Charter and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
