A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S)
APPROVING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") ANNUAL PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY
("PHA") PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005, IN CONNECTION WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION
AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE CITY'S SECTION 8 HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER
PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE PHA PLAN,
ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL BY THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ("HUD") FOR THE
CITY'S CONTINUED PARTICIPATION IN SAID PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED, FOR SUBMISSION OF THE CITY'S PHA PLAN TO HUD.

Background Information:
• Effective October 1, 1999, Section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937,
was amended by the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998,
requiring public housing agencies to develop an annual PHA plan;
• The City of Miami ("City") has been designated as the Public Housing Agency
("PHA") to administer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program;
• Submission of the PHA Plans to the United States Department of Housing and
Urban Development ("HUD") is required to ensure the City's continued
participation in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
