Director Chi .G�iw City Manag Paste 1 of 1 Agenda Summary Attachment Background Information: • Effective October 1, 1999, Section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, was amended by the Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of 1998, requiring public housing agencies to develop an annual PHA plan; • The City of Miami ("City") has been designated as the Public Housing Agency ("PHA") to administer the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program; • Submission of the PHA Plans to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") is required to ensure the City's continued participation in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
