A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "2005 SUPPORTIVE SERVICES GRANT"
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $251,071,
CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, THROUGH THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
HOMELESS TRUST, FORA ONE YEAR-PERIOD,TO PROVIDE OUTREACH,
INFORMATION, REFERRAL, ASSESSMENT AND PLACEMENT SERVICES TO
HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT
AWARD.
WHEREAS, in February, 2005, the Miami -Dade County's consolidated application to the United
States Department of Housing and Urban Development, to provide services to the homeless, was
approved; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("Program") provides outreach,
assessment, information and referral, transportation and housing assistance to the homeless citizens
of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the Program was included in the consolidated application and was awarded
$251,071;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:
FUND TITLE: 2005 Supportive Services Grant
RESOURCES: United States Department of Housing and $251,071
Urban Development through the Miami -Dade
Homeless Trust
APPROPRIATIONS: City of Miami Homeless Assistance Program $251,071
for outreach, information, referral, assessment
and placement services to homeless individuals

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute the necessary documents to implement
acceptance of said grant award.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}
Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
