I, Sylvia Gammill, as legal guardian of Isabel Alonso would like to object on
her behalf as to the change of designation from "low density restricted
commercial." to "restricted commercia ". This residential area already has had
the "Douglas Enclave" built in 2023. The result is heavier traffic in and out of
the area, lack of privacy in residential backyards due to high rises too dose to
houses, and to top it all off, a tattoo parlor renting on the bottom floor causing No
traffic of its own. Please think about the repercussions to those who have
been living quietly in their homes for years being surrounded all of a sudden
by tall buildings housing over 1,000 people. It turns your residential
neighborhood into a profit machine that cares not for the peace that residents
Look for in and around their homes. Thank you.
File ID 15165 and File ID 15166 Honorable Mayor and Honorable
Commissioners of the City of Miami: As a resident of the City of Miami who
Lives in the area in question, I would like to suggest that you consider turning
those vacant lots into a mini park and a playground where the elderly people
who live in this neighborhood can enjoy going and spending time sharing with
each other, reading a book, etc. and where younger families can take their
children to a nearby playground. The ones available are too far away. We do
not have a green area dose by, and many of the elderly people do not own a
car. I have never been able to understand why you do not like to see a green No
space of and anywhere. It seems all you want is to add more to the concrete
jungle we already have. You already took away Melreese Park from us and
approved building the super oversized apartment complex that is being built in
the rear of the Central Shopping Plaza. Many neighbors like me, feel you
have destroyed our neighborhood. The traffic is awful and it is going to get
worse once the Soccer Stadium is finished. I hope you reconsider and Leave
these Lots the way they are so that we can see a green piece of Land
somewhere in our city. Sincerely, Oscar Fragas
