A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING THE
RECOMMENDATION OF THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT
COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 2-1251(1)(B) AND 35-221(A)(6) OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, AUTHORIZING THE
DISBURSEMENT OF MATCHING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000, FROM
THE COCONUT GROVE BUSINESS DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND,
ACCOUNT NO. 0172770906, IN SUPPORT OF THE 2005 SUMMER
DESTINATION MARKETING CAMPAIGN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
GREATER MIAMI CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU AND THE LOCAL
COCONUT GROVE HOTELS; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
DEPARTMENT OF OFF-STREET PARKING TO DISBURSE SAID FUNDS FOR
SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the Coconut Grove Business Improvement Committee ("BIC") on March 15, 2005,
voted to recommend to the Miami City Commission to disburse matching funds in the amount of
$100,000, from the Coconut Business District Improvement Trust Fund, Account No. 0172770906
("Improvement Fund"), in support of the 2005 Summer Destination Marketing Campaign in conjunction
with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and local Coconut Grove hotels; and
WHEREAS, Sections 2-1251(1)(b) and 35-221(a)(6)of the Code of the City of Miami, as
amended ("City Code"), require for such disbursement of funds from the Improvement Fund to be
made by the Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP");
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2: The recommendation of the Coconut Grove BIC pursuant to Sections 2-1251(1)(b) and
35-221-(a)(6) of the City Code, to disburse matching funds in the amount of $100,000, from the
Improvement Fund, Account No. 0172770906, in support of the 2005 Summer Destination Marketing
Campaign in conjunction with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and the local
Coconut Grove hotels, is authorized.
Section 3. DOSP is authorized and directed to disburse said funds for said purpose.
Section 4, This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{1}

Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
