Subject: Accept bids for Uniforms and Safety Shoes for Firefighters, Bid No. 03-04-165
Purpose of Item:
Adopt a Resolution to accept the bid of Harrison Uniforms (Non-Minority/Local vendor), located at
3850 North Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida, 33127, pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 03-04-165, for
the procurement of uniforms and safety shoes for the Department of Fire -Rescue, on an as -needed
contract basis, for two (2) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods, in an.
estimated amount not to exceed $.100,000 for the current Fiscal Year (FY 2004-05), and at an
estimated annual amount not to exceed $160,000 for Fiscal Years 2005, 2006 and 2007, for a total
contract award not to exceed $580,000, subject only to budgetary approval.
Funding for the current FY 2004-05 is available from the Department of Fire -Rescue General
Operating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.280601.6.075.
Background Information:
The Department of Fire -Rescue needs to establish a contract with a provider of uniforms and safety
shoes for sworn personnel. Various uniforms and safety footwear are issued to approximately 634
firefighters on an as -needed basis, and it is imperative a reliable source for this commodity be secured.
The Department of Fire -Rescue has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 03-04-165. The
bid from Harrison Uniform was deemed as the lowest most responsible and responsive bidder,
meeting specifications and is therefore recommended for the award.
