A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW
SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "EMS COUNTY GRANT #C4013 AWARD
(FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005)" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$91,620, CONSISTING OF A GRANT APPORTIONED BY MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU OF
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ("EMS"), "FLORIDA EMS GRANT PROGRAM
COUNTIES;" AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT
AWARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant, in the amount of $91,620, from
the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services ("EMS"), pursuant
to Chapter 401, Part II, Florida Statutes, to provide grant funds to Boards of County Commissioners to
improve and expand pre -hospital emergency medical services; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the members of the Miami -Dade Board of County Commissioners
that Fiscal Year 2004-2005 funding for Miami -Dade County ("County") from the State of Florida
Department of Health, "Florida EMS Grant Program for Counties," in the amount of $91,620, be
apportioned and passed through the City's Department of Fire -Rescue for Fiscal Year 2004-2005 for
the improvement, expansion and continuation of its pre -hospital EMS projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Department of Fire -Rescue's work plan to implement the following projects:
Riskwatch Program, EMS Equipment, and EMS Conferences, Seminars and Training Sessions have
been approved by the County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1) to execute the necessary documents, to implement
acceptance of said grant award.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
