A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
VACATING, DISCONTINUING, AND ABANDONING THE SOUTH FIFTEEN (15)
FEET OF LOT 15 AND THE SOUTH FIFTEEN (15) FEET OF THE EAST HALF OF
LOT 16, BLOCK 1, "MEADOW LAWN", ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF,
RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 9, PAGE 55 OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF MIAMI-
DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND RETURNING SAME TO THE PRESENT
ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE
ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, a request has been made to vacate, discontinue and abandon the south fifteen (15)
feet of Lot 15 and the south fifteen (15) feet of the east half of Lot 16 granted to the City of Miami ("City
") in 1926 in a deed of dedication for highway purposes only as recorded in Book 891, Page 434 of the
Public Records of Miami -Dade County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, said south fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and the south fifteen (15) feet of the east half of
Lot 16 which lies within Block 1, "Meadow Lawn", according to the plat thereof, recorded in Plat
Book 9, Page 55 of the Public Records of Miami -Dade County, Florida, is not being utilized by the City;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has established a zoned right-of-way width of fifty (50) feet for
Northwest 29th Street between Northwest 23rd Avenue and Northwest 24th Avenue and said south
fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and the south fifteen (15) feet of the east half of Lot 16 is not included within
the zoned right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, all utility companies have been contacted and have expressed no objection to the
vacation, discontinuing and abandoning of the said south fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and the south
fifteen (15) feet of the east half of Lot 16; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would not be detrimental to the interest of the City or its
citizens to relinquish the aforesaid south fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and the south fifteen (15) feet of the
east half of Lot 16, and any reason to do so would prevent the present owners from utilizing the
property for its highest and best use;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The City vacates, discontinues and abandons the south fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and
the south fifteen (15) feet of the east half of Lot 16, Block 1, "Meadow Lawn", according to the plat
thereof, recorded in Plat Book 9, Page 55, of the Public Records of Miami -Dade County, Florida, and
recorded in Book 891, Page 434 of the Public Records of Miami -Dade County, Florida.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} and directed to execute a Quit Claim Deed reverting
the aforesaid south fifteen (15) feet of Lot 15 and the south fifteen (15) feet of the east half of Lot 16,
Block 1, "Meadow Lawn", to the appertaining owners of record, ANICET CABRERA and LEONARDO
TORRES, whose address is 2375 Northwest 29th Street, Miami, Florida.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
