HomeMy WebLinkAboutcity letter9(f.ttg 411liami JOE ARRIOLA City Manager March 17, 2005 Angel Quant, Regional Operations Manager TECO Gas 5101 NW 21 Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 ABANDONMENT OF RIGHT OF WAY/RETURN TO PROPERTY OWNER - SOUTH 15 FEET OF LOT 16 AND THE SOUTH 15 FEET OF THE EAST HALF OF LOT 16, BLOCK 1, MEADOW LAWN, PLAT BOOK 9, PAGE 55, A.K.A. 2375 NW 29 STREET This department has received a request from the owner of the subject property to return an abandoned portion of land originally deeded to the City for additional right of way beyond the City's standard 50 foot wide roadway. Our research concludes that the City Commission zoned NE 29 Street 50 feet wide and the subject 15 feet of land is outside the 50 foot base building line; that the City rebuilt NW 29 Street within the 50 foot right of way and did not include any of the additional 15 feet of land in the improvement project; and that no City owned facilities or improvements occupy this area. None of the existing street improvements at this location will be physically changed by the abandonment of this parcel of land. The return of the 15 foot wide strip of land to the abutting property owner is tentatively scheduled to be considered by the City Commission at their May 12, 2005 meeting. Please investigate your agency's facilities and operations within this strip of land and notify this department of any comments or requests you may have concerning the return of this land to the abutting property owner. Enclosed is a location map/sketch of legal description for your reference.
