NIA. Consideration of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 11000, as amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami, by amending Article 17, Major Use Special Permits, more particularly Section 1706, in order to modify provisions related to modifications of Major Use Special Permits; containing a repealer provision and a severability clause; and providing for an effective date. Approval, The proposed amendment is in order to remove certain time constraints imposed on the City Commission as it relates to their review of substantial modifications to Major Use Special Permits. The current provisions are too restrictive and do not allow the City Commission adequate time in some cases to analyze the potential impacts of substantial changes to approved Major Use Special Permits. The changes often consist of an entirely new project and should be reviewed as such. The proposed language eliminates the two (2) meeting requirement for the Commission to act and replaces it with the appropriate review criteria. 05-00144 Recommended approval to VOTE: 5-0 City Commission.
