Subject: Increase contract - B-50654 Overtown Storm Sewer Pump Station Upgrades (3rd Bidding)
Purpose of Item:
Increase the contract by $60,000 from $286,000 to $346,000 to complete the project as per its original
scope.
Background Information:
The Building Department advises that the building codes under which the project was originally
designed have changed and the project needed modifications to be in compliance with the new
building codes, Resolving the changes required in the plans caused the start of construction to be
delayed for almost a year. During this year, industry wide increases occurred in concrete, steel and
other construction materials and labor. This request is intended to cover these cost increases.
