LLC, a Non-Minority/Non-Local vendor, located at 2049 W. Central Blvd., Orlando, Florida 32805, and Armored Textiles, a Non-Minority/Non-Local vendor, located at 39 Webster Street, Jaffrey, New Hampshire 03452, pursuant to Invitation for Bids No. 04-05-018, for the procurement of fire hoses, for the Department of Fire -Rescue, on an as -needed contract basis, for a one-year period, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, in an amount not to exceed $14,000 for the current Fiscal Year (FY 2004-05), and at an annual amount not to exceed $40,000 for Fiscal Years 2005 and 2006, for a total contract award not to exceed $94,000, subject only to budgetary approval. Funding for the current FY 2004-05 is available from the Department of Fire -Rescue General Operating Budget, Account Nos. 001000.280601.6.709 ($13,000) and 001000.280701.6.709 ($1,000). Background Information: The Department of Fire -Rescue needs to secure a contract with a reliable provider, on an as -needed contract basis, for the acquisition of fire hoses. Due to the nature of Fire -Rescue work, damage and tI wear to firefighting gear is inevitable. In order for the Department of Fire -Rescue to provide fire suppression and rescue services to the City, proper protective gear is essential. The requested firefighting hoses meets the National Fire Protection Association ("NFPA") safety requirements and will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue to replace worn and damaged fire hoses on an as - needed, when -needed basis. The Department of Fire -Rescue has analyzed the bids received pursuant to Bid No. 04-05-018. The bids from Municipal Equipment Co. LLC, and Armored Textiles were deemed as the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, meeting specifications and are therefore recommended for the award.
