The Equal Opportunity Advisory Board was created to review and recommend to the City Commission the
adoption of amendments/revisions to the City's affirmative action plan. The board also reviews employment
policies and practices of the City and makes recommendations to the Department of Human Resources.
Five members' terms expired on February 8, 2005:
• Vice Chairman Gonzalez has two nominations:
1. Albena Sumner
2. Miriam Urra, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code
(9 absences in 2004).
• Chairman Sanchez has two nominations:
1. Raul Dominguez, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City
Code (8 absences in 2004).
2. Sam Mason, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code
(5 absences in 2004).
• Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Anthony
Cantey, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code (8 absences in
2004).
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the April 14,
2005 Commission agenda. This matter was deferred from the February 10, 2005 Commission
meeting.
