Subject: Transferring 29th Year HOPWA Close out funds to 30th Year LTRA and Sunshine for All, Inc.
Purpose of Item:
The purpose of this item is for the City Commission to approve the transfer of 29th year close out
Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funds, in the total amount of $599,048.43,
to the City of Miami Department of Community Development 30th year Long Term Rental
Assistance Program (LTRA), in the amount of $549,048.43, and to Sunshine for All, Inc., in the
amount of $50,000.00, to provide nutritionally hot and frozen home delivered meals to homebound
persons participating in the HOPWA Long Term Rental Assistance Program.
Background Information:
The need to provide Long Term Rental Assistance for individuals and families diagnosed with AIDS
continues to grow in Miami- Dade county. There is a balance of 29th year HOPWA closed out funds,
in the amount of $599,048.43, available for distribution. The Administration is requesting
transferring 29th year HOPWA close out funds to the LTRA program and Sunshine for All, Inc.
