Subject: Convey Nine Parcels of Land to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc.
Purpose of Item:
The purpose of this item is to convey nine (9) City of Miami owned vacant parcels of land to Habitat
for Humanity of Greater Miami, Inc. for the development of affordable housing opportunities for
eligible low income persons.
Background Information:

There is a pressing need for decent, affordable housing in the City of Miami. The City recognizes the
need to develop affordable housing for low and moderate income families and individuals. Habitat for
Humanity has extensive experience in housing development where said agency has built more than
four hundred and fifty homeownership units for first-time, low income homebuyers since its openin.g
in 1989.
