HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution11C411 11111 ■ • c City of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 3313:3 www.ci.miami.fl.us File Number: 05-00263 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 01-484, ADOPTED MAY 24, 2001, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENTS, WITH PARTICIPATING AGENCIES, SETTING FORTH THE AGENCIES' RESPONSIBILITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT OF A LOCAL URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE TASK FORCE COORDINATED BY THE CITY OF MIAMI DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE WITH ALL COSTS TO BE REIMBURSED BY STATE AND FEDERAL FUNDING SOURCES, BY INCLUDING THE CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS, AS A PARTICIPATING AGENCY, AS STATED IN "EXHIBIT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR PARTICIPATING AGENCIES, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 01-484, adopted May 24, 2001, authorized the City Manager to execute Memorandum of Agreements with participating agencies setting forth the agencies' responsibilities in connection with the development and support of a local Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") Task Force coordinated by the City of Miami ("City") Department of Fire -Rescue with all costs to be reimbursed by State and Federal funding sources; and WHEREAS, as the sponsoring agency of the South Florida USAR Task Force, FL TF 2, the Department of Fire -Rescue desires to include the City of Palm Beach Gardens, who wishes to participate in the USAR Task Force Program; and WHEREAS, this amendment will expand the USAR Task Force by providing additional personnel with the appropriate expertise at no cost to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 01-484, adopted May 24, 2001, which authorized the City Manager to execute Memorandum of Agreements, with participating agencies, setting forth the agencies' responsibilities in connection with the development and support of a local USAR Task Force coordinated by the City Department of Fire -Rescue with all costs to be reimbursed by State and Federal funding sources, is amended by including the City of Palm Beach Gardens, as a participating agency, as stated in "Exhibit A," attached and incorporated. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute a Memorandum of Agreement for Participating Agencies, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPRSVED A TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:- JOR CITY TTO' NEY Footnotes: J {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
