A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION APPROVING THE
PROCUREMENT OF PROGRAM MANAGEMENT SERVICES FROM URS
CORPORATION, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PURCHASING, TO BE USED
CITYWIDE ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS, UTILIZING EXISTING
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH CONTRACT PROCURED PURSUANT TO REQUEST
FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 111-99/00, EFFECTIVE UNTIL MAY 26, 2006,
SUBJECT TO FURTHER EXTENSIONS OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,000,000;
ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM ACCOUNT CODE NO. 341330.
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has a need to secure a contract for program
management services; and
WHEREAS, program management services are not the kind of professional services
encompassed by the Consultant's Competitive Negotiation Act, 287.055, Florida Statutes, but
rather are procured under the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended, including Section
18-11 of the Purchasing Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has determined that the City of Miami Beach
contract referenced above was entered into by a competitive process in compliance with City laws,
policies and procedures; and
WHEREAS, this service will be purchased under City of Miami Beach contract procured
pursuant to Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 111-99/00, effective until May 26, 2006; and
WHEREAS, this contract will enable the City to purchase program management services on an
as -needed contract basis; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Transportation, the City Manager and the Director of Purchasing
recommend that the procurement of program management services from URS Corporation,
awarded under existing City of Miami Beach contract procured pursuant to RFQ No. 111-99/00, be
approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.

Section 2. The procurement of program management services from URS Corporation, for
the Department of Purchasing, to be used Citywide on an as -needed contract basis, awarded
under the City of Miami Beach contract procured pursuant to RFQ No. 111-99/00, effective until
May 26, 2006, subject to further extensions or replacement contracts by the City of Miami Beach,
in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, is approved, with funds allocated from Account Code No.
341330.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall
become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
