HomeMy WebLinkAboutsummary formDate: 1/24/2005 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: 0 5 w OD Z 0$ Requesting Department: Economic Development Commission Meeting Date: 2/24/2005 District Impacted: 2 Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Third Amendment to Operating Agreement for Watson Island Parking Operations Purpose of Item: The administration recommends that the Miami City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute the Third Amendment to the Amended and Restated Operating Agreement, between the City of Miami ("CITY") and the Department of Off -Street Parking ("DOSP"), dated August 8, 2002, as amended, for the City to provide an additional $45,000 to DOSP for funding the design and construction of restroom facilities at the Boat Ramp Parking Lot to be located on Watson Island, subject to DOSP's compliance with certain terms and conditions related to the use of the funds as more particularly set forth in the Amended Agreement; allocating funds from City of Miami Capital Improvement Funds Project 311047. Background Information: �. The proposed amendment provides for DOSP's use of an additional $45,000 from City of Miami Capital Improvement Funds, Project 311047 B#75000, for design and construction of the Parking Facilities, more specifically for the restroom facility. These additional funds are required due to changes to the design that were required in order to comply with FEMA guidelines. DOSP's use of these funds shall be subject to their compliance with certain terms and conditions as more fully set forth in the amended agreement. On January 19, 2005, DOSP's Board of Directors approved the attached Amended Operating Agreement. DOSP will cover all the soft costs for the project as well as any overage costs for the project.
