HomeMy WebLinkAboutappendixBCounty/City PADD Program Appendix B PAD PROGRAM COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION • Oversee and manage program spectrum (this will include but not be limited to all program financial/legal obligations, grant guidelines, establish clear goals and objectives). • Liaison with local Health related agencies to inform about program, seek involvement, solicit donations and grow/improve the program. • Coordinate the identification of target "high risk" areas throughout the county, most in need of CPR/AED Training and AED placement. • Meet monthly with area EMS Departments, Cities PAD/AED Coordinators to improve program, improve communication and to increase community participation. • Meet quarterly with PADP Board of Advisers (as fisted in grant application) to review program, brainstorm, receive feedback and improve the program. • Work with local high schools to adopt a policy of requiring that students receive CPR/AED training and encourage community service hours toward project. • Set up training schedules and deliver education and training (initial and bi-annual recertification) in different applicable languages spoken by the public (we have a large Hispanic, Haitian and English speaking population). • Utilize American Heart Association Heart Saver Course for CPR/AED training. • Oversee Web based AED training and AED/CPR refresher training. • Supervise document training, issue certifications and track certifications for expiration and re -certification training. • Install AEDs at pre -determined locations. • Conduct onsite CPRIAED re -enforcement drills at each AED location. • Oversee Program Management to keep track of CPR/AED training, AED units, Pads, Batteries and expirations. Or establish and monitor a maintenance agreement with the defibrillator vendor who would oversee this task. • Identify and document Team Leaders at each AED Location (they will perform quarterly inspection). • Require quarterly inspections with reports and review quarterly reports on each AED. • Bi-annually visit each AED location and inspect the AED. • Respond within 3 hours 24/7 to report of usage of AED within the program. • Coordinate Quality Management of any AED usage (this will include downloading event, reviewing event, meeting with participants, discussing event, re -enforcing and encouraging participants,.service AED unit and placing unit back into service). • Routinely gather resuscitation/defibrillation data from all area EMS agencies and use Ulstein Reporting Criteria to review events and compare pre-program with current program survival rates. • Educate local EMS agencies on the PAD Program and on the need to properly treat, document and report AED usage. • Work with AED manufacturers to partner with them to provide AEDs, and at the same time, have manufacturers contribute to the local PAD Program so as to allow continued funding of the PAD Program.
