The Resolution further authorizes an amendment to the May 4, 2004 contract with NCI Construction Co. to allow this increase, subject to City Commission approval. Background Information: On April 22, 2004, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 04-0259 approving the bid of NCI Construction Co. for the Project entitled "Lawrence Storm Water Pump Station Upgrades (311 Bidding) Project," B-50652, formerly B-5650B, in an amount not to exceed $202,047 from Capital Improvement Project (CIP) No. 352216 entitled "Citywide Local Drainage Projects FY 02-06". The City's Department of Planning and Zoning has advised that the building codes under which the Project was originally designed have changed and the Project has to be modified to be in compliance with the new building codes. Therefore, it is necessary to amend the existing contract to increase the compensation to the Contractor, to cover work required by the redesign of the Project, in an amount not to exceed $50,000, increasing the contract from $202,047 to $252,047.
