Thank you." As the representative of some 500 families in my building, Marina Blue, to the Downtown Neighborhood Association, I write in full support of SR 1, our commissioner's resolution that SR. 1 would put reasonable limitations on lighted advertising signs that are unwanted in and harmful 888 #15416 to our neighborhood. Frankly, we think the ordinance actually doesn't go far enough, and are Biscayne Amend not happy that the delay in moving this measure has already permitted an outrageous Blvd. Code - eyesore and irritant to be erected and lit up in Maurice Ferre Park. This is not Las Vegas and Apt. Chapter 2 - is not Times Square. It's a growing neighborhood in which families are trying to reclaim what 2401 Outdoor was not too long ago a run down, dangerous corner of the city. Making our lives more difficult Advertising by allowing these LED billboards to blast through our windows is an idea whose time never was, no matter how much revenue some may gain from the sign owners. Please vote for SR 1 without further delay! PZ. 2 Commissioner please defer this request . To start with, the developers have given the #14742 impression that there is lots of community support for this project. This is false as evidenced Land Use - by our turnout of homeowners and the letters your office has received regarding this project. 160 NE 50 As a homeowner i am against this upzoning request as it stands During your meeting at the Kath Coop 101 NE Ter, 152 NE Arthur Teale Center, there were dear next steps. For over a year and a half, the nne eveld 51st #14743 neighborhood has been trying to work with the developers to understand this project, but to no Street Rezoning - avail. In multiple instances, including at a public forum hosted by Chairwoman King, we raised 15980 Submittal -Public Comments Submitted Online for the April 25, 2024 City Commission Meeting First Last Nam Nam e e Street Agenda Public Comment Address Item Miami 160 NE 50 concerns about how our residential streets cannot handle this increase in density, which will 33137 Ter, 152 NE bring with it increased traffic and crime. We asked the developers to assure us that parking 50 Ter, 170 would be located as dose to NE2nd as possible to alleviate these issues. They said no; NE 50 Ter, parking needed to be next to be further into our residential street next to a residential home. 184 NE 50 We asked to limit the heights to four stories, as they have never indicated 5 stories were Ter, 183 NE needed for their project, again they said no. Time and time again we have attempted to work 50 St, 177 with the developers, but to no avail. Meanwhile, our residents bear the brunt of their poor NE 50 St planning. The highest concentration of crime in Upper Buena Vista is the eastern block of NE 50th Terrace. Tenants of UBV are told to park on our residential streets. Neighbors spend weekends picking up trash left by visitors. We are genuinely concerned with how these issues will be compounded by such an increase in density, and we have received zero assurances that the neighborhood won't be left to bear the brunt of UBV's poor planning once again.
