in the City of Miami. I lived through the Mc Duffy riot, the Johnson riot, the
Lizano riot, and most recently the incident surrounding Elian Gonzalez. I believe
as an overwhelming majority of law enforcement officers that work and serve our
community are good arid conduct their business with professionalism and
integrity. I am also aware there are sorne officers who bring dishonor to their
profession. This is why I feel that the CIP is greatly needed and is an
organization that I wish to be apart of I also feel that the job of the CIP was not
established just to identify bad or corrupt officers, but it was also established to
clear the name of officers who have done nothing wrong.
