The Virginia Key Beach Park Trust was created to preserve the Virginia Key Beach Park in
cooperation with the Department of Parks and Recreation and other City departments in a manner
consistent with the environmental health, public use, historical importance of the Park and the
aspirations of the African American community and shall propose policy, planning, and design to
ensure maximum community utilization, enjoyment, and maintenance of the Park as an open
greenspace compatible with its historical and recreational characteristics and accessible to the
public.
All nine members' terms will expire on February 8, 2005:
• The Commission At -Large has three appointments for seats currently held by:
(1) M. Athalie Range
(2) Enid C Pinkney
(3) Eugenia B. Thomas
• Vice Chairman Gonzalez has one nomination for seat currently held by Maud
Newbold.
• Commissioner Winton has one nomination for seat currently held by W. Mark Walters.
• Chairman Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Gustavo Godoy.
• Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Miguel
Germain.
• Commissioner Allen has one nomination for seat currently held by Bernice Sawyer.
• Mayor Allen has one appointment for seat currently held by Gene Tinnie.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the membership of the Trust. By copy of this
memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the March 10, 2005
Commission agenda.
