RATIFICATION OF EMERGENCY FINDINGS FOR WAIVER OF
BIDS TO CONTINUE THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM
STRUCTURAL REPAIRS PROJECT NO. B-.30297

The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on February 24, 2005 beginning at 9:00
a.m. to consider whether it is in the public's best interest that the City Commission ratify,
approve and confirm the Emergency Findings of the City Manager justifying the waiver of
competitive bids to increase an existing construction contract to continue the Orange Bowl
Stadium Structural Repairs Project No. B-30297, formerly B-3297. The contract was originally
awarded to Professional General Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $1,949,039, and subsequently
amended to $2,849,031 to cover additional repairs. Due to the fact that recently additional
structural repairs have been identified, the amount of the increase for the latest additional repair
work is $3,717,005, bringing the total contract to $6,852,936.
The Public Hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Commission
meeting of February 24, 2005 at:

Miami, Florida
The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented at this
meeting and are invited to express their views. Should any person desire to appeal any decision
of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, that person shall
ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence
upon which any appeal may be based.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, persons needing special
