A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO WAIVE THE FACILITY RENTAL FEES FOR THE USE OF THE
COCONUT GROVE EXPO CENTER FOR THE MIAMI-DADE ADOPT -A -TREE
PROGRAM, FOR A TREE GIVE-AWAY EVENT TO BE HELD ON MAY 21, 2005
FROM 9 AM TO 12 PM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade Adopt -A -Tree program is a not -for -profit organization developed and
funded by the State Department of Agriculture; and
WHEREAS, the program is administered by the Miami -Dade Department of Environmental
Resources Management; and
WHEREAS, the Adopt -A -Tree program wishes to have a waiver of fees to utilize the Coconut
Grove Expo Center for a tree give-away event on May 21, 2005 from 9 am to 12 pm; and
WHEREAS, residents will benefit from this program to further enhance the communities of the City
of Miami;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to waive the facility rental fees for the use of the
Coconut Grove Expo Center for the Miami -Dade Adopt -A -Tree program, for a tree give-away event to
be held on May 21, 2005, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute any necessary documents for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature by
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotesr
(1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
(2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
