Subject: Resolution accepting grant from Miami Dade County Office of ADA Coordination
Purpose of Item:
To accept a grant, in the amount of $37,444.49, from the Miami Dade County Office of ADA
Coordination for the purpose of assisting in the purchase of a wheelchair accessible mini -bus for use
by the Disabilities Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation and for additional personnel
and other program related expenses required to operate the annual summer camp for children with
disabilities.
Background Information:
The Disabilities Division of Parks and Recreation requires a wheelchair accessible mini -bus to operate
the summer program for persons with disabilities. The Miami Dade Office of ADA Coordination has
provided funding in the amount of $37,444.49 for this purpose. Of the total amount, $12,598 will
support the Kool Kids Summer Camp and $24,846.49 will be used towards the purchase of the mini-
bus. This Resolution formally accepts said grant.
