The funds are for a Tunnel Feasibility Study for SW 1st Avenue at the Miami River. Background Information: The City of Miami and Miami -Dade County are partnering to advance the feasibility study stage of the proposed Miami River Tunnel project to connect the Downtown and Brickell areas unimpeded by marine navigation. The purpose of the study is to obtain recommendations to determine the feasibility of a new multi -lane tunnel below the Miami River along SW 1st Avenue in Miami Dade County, Florida, between SW 7th Street and SW 1st Street. The study will be conducted by one of the ten firms recently selected and awarded contracts by the City to provide transportation engineering services for any and all major transportation and transit projects in the City of Miami's Capital Improvement Plan.
