UNDERGROUND UTILITIES CONSTRUCTION FOR STREETCAR
ENGINEERING SERVICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA AND THE MIDTOWN MIAMI COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
Pursuant to the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Miami (City) and the
Midtown Miami Community Development District (District), the following will
be required to revise the underground utility plans and construct the additional,
modified infrastructure improvements to accommodate the future construction of
the Miami Streetcar Project within the Midtown Miami Project:
1. The utility modifications include additional conflict drainage structures,
additional sewer manholes, additional FP&L manholes and modifications to
the FP&L conduits and duct banks as well as the associated administration
and construction observation.
2. Specialized review for the Overhead Contact System.
3. Modification to the design of the Streetcar components within the
Entertainment Block Plaza of the Midtown Miami Project to accommodate
the Miami Streetcar Project.
The District's utility contractor will need to be authorized in the next several
weeks to order many of the long lead time materials in order to maintain the
overall construction schedule for the infrastructure of the Midtown Miami Project.
Based on the preliminary evaluations against the permitted utility drawings, it is
recommended that the City allocate $550,000 for these utility modifications. In
accordance with the Interlocal Agreement, the District will invoice the City for
actual costs with payments to be made by the City to the District based upon
detailed back-up provided by the District for these modifications. These costs
shall not exceed $550,000 without prior written approval from the City.
