Background Information: On October 5, 2004 the Department of Parks and Recreation Programs for Persons with Disabilities submitted a grant proposal to Miami -Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs for funding to help support the 2005 Disabilities Showcase. Miami -Dade County approved a grant of $5,388 for the event, which highlights the abilities of persons with developmental and physical disabilities in the City of Miami's Program for Persons with Disabilities. Other actors come from the Actor's Playhouse, Goodwill Industries, Miami -Dade County Department of Leisure Access, Southeast Group Home, Castorline Group Home, City of Hialeah Special Population, and other residents of group homes and Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs).
