HomeMy WebLinkAbouttextfile reportCity of Miami Text File Report City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us File ID: 04-00298 Enactment #: R-04-0186 Version: 2 Type: Resolution Introduced: 3/17/04 Status: Passed Enactment Date: Controlling Body: District 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING TO THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT ("FIND") WATERWAYS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,550,000, FOR THE BICENTENNIAL PARK SEAWALL RESTORATION PROJECT -PHASE II ("PROJECT"); AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION OF REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS FOR FIFTY PERCENT (50%) OF THE PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,550,000, FROM THE ANTICIPATED ISSUANCE OF THE SECOND SERIES HOMELAND DEFENSE/NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT BONDS PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY VOTER REFERENDUM FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. 331418, ENTITLED "BICENTENNIAL PARK IMPROVEMENTS;" AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SUBMISSION OF THE FIND GRANT APPLICATION, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") wishes to continue to restore the seawall at Bicentennial Park and has secured the services of a consultant to commence design for Phase II of the Bicentennial Seawall Restoration Project ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the Project is $3,100,000; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to apply for grant funding from the Florida Inland Navigation District ("FIND") for the Project in the amount $1,550,000, to be matched by an equal amount of City funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in thic Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to submit an application for grant funding to Find Waterways Assistance Program, in an amount not to exceed $1,550,000, for the Project. Section 3. The allocation of required matching funds for fifty percent (50%) of the Project, in an amount not to exceed $1,550,000 from anticipated issuance of the second series Homeland Defense/Neighborhood Improvement Bonds previously approved by voter referendum for Capital Improvements Project No. 331418, entitled "Bicentennial Park Improvements" is authorized.
