INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
To: Honorable Members of the
City Commission
From: Priscilla A. Thompson
City Clerk
Date: December 17, 2004
Subject: Code Enforcement Board
References: January 13, 2005 Agenda
Enclosures: List of members
The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding
whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance.
Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be
residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the
board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a
subcontractor, and a realtor.
One appointment is needed at this time:
• Vice Chairman Gonzalez has one nomination for regular seat currently held by Richard
Tapia, who has exceeded the number of absences allowed per City Code.
For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the January 13,
2005 Commission agenda. This issue was deferred from the November 18, 2004 and the December
9, 2004 Commission meetings.
