Subject: Street Codesignation
Purpose of Item:
The City of Miami Public Works Department recommends that the City of Miami Commission adopt
the attached ammended Resolution authorizing the street codesignation of SW 18 Avenue from West
Flagler Street to SW 1 Street as "Avenida Gerardo TutiOn."
Background Information:
Resolution No. 02-635, passed and adopted June 13, 2002, codesignated SW 1 Street from SW 22
Avenue to SW 18 Court as "Calle Gerardo TutIon." Southwest 1 Street is a State road under the
jurisdiction of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and FDOT does not permit the
codesignation of roads under their jurisdiction without approval from the Florida Legislature. The
sponsors of the codesignation have now selected SW 18 Avenue from SW Flagler Street to SW 1
Street to be codesignated as "Avenida Gerardo Tunon."
