A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 02-635, ADOPTED JUNE 13, 2002, WHICH CODESIGNATED CERTAIN
STREETS AS "CALLE GERARDO TUNON" BY CHANGING THE CODESIGNATED
STREETS TO SOUTHWEST 18TH AVENUE FROM FLAGLER STREET TO
SOUTHWEST 1ST STREET AND CHANGING THE NAME TO "AVENIDA
GERARDO TUNON" ; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF
THIS RESOLUTION TO THE HEREIN DESIGNATED OFFICES.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 02-635, adopted June 13, 2002, codesignated Southwest 1st Street
from Southwest 22nd Avenue to Southwest 18th Court as "Calle Gerardo Tunon;" and
WHEREAS, Southwest 1st Street is a State road under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department
of Transportation ("FDOT") and FDOT does not permit the codesignation of roads under their
jurisdiction without approval from the Florida Legislature; and
WHEREAS, the sponsors of the codesignation have selected new streets to be codesignated as
"Avenida Gerardo Tulion;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Resolution No. 02-0635, adopted June 13, 2002, is amended in the following
particulars:(1 )

Section 2. .
Southwest 18th Avenue from Flaoler Street to Southwest lst Street, Miami, Florida, is
codesignated as " Calle Avenida Gerardo Tunon."
Section 2. The City Manager is directed to instruct the Director of Public Works to transmit a copy
of this Resolution to the Departments of Police, Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste, Miami -Dade County Public
Works and United States Postal Service.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
