RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully requested that the City Commission on January 27, 2005 hear and accept the
monthly progress report of the Civilian Investigative Panel.
BACKGROUND:
The CIP, in an attempt to become fully staffed and operational encountered numerous obstacles
and inherent indifference in dealing with City Administration. On June 24, 2004, the CIP sought
the assistance of the Mayor and City Commission to resolve and expedite the issues adversely
impacting the forward motion of the CIP. Commissioners pledged their support as well as
provided guidance towards a more progressive CIF.
Additionally, on September 9, 2004, the Commission passed a motion requiring the CIP to
provide to the Commission, monthly progress reports for the next six months and quarterly
reports thereafter.
Mr. Larry Handfield, CIF Chairperson, wishes to present the third of six monthly reports at the
January 27, 2005 meeting of the City Commission.
