AN ORDINANCE OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AMENDING CHAPTER 54/
ARTICLE IV/SECTION 54-130 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA,
AS AMENDED, ENTITLED "STREETS AND SIDEWALKS/NAMING OF STREETS
AND NUMBERING OF BUILDINGS/NAMES OF DRIVES AND ROADS," BY
. CHANGING THE NAME OF SOUTHWEST 15TH ROAD BETWEEN SOUTHWEST
11TH STREET AND BRICKELL AVENUE TO BROADWAY; DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK TO TRANSMIT A COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE TO THE HEREIN
DESIGNATED AGENCIES; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION, A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, after careful consideration of this matter deems it advisable and
in the best interest of the general welfare of the City of Miami ("Clty") and its inhabitants to amend the
Code of the City of Miami, Florida ("City Code"), as amended, by changing the name of Southwest 15
th Road between Southwest 11th Street and Brickell Avenue to Broadway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Ordinance are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Chapter 54/Article IV/Section 54-130 of the City Code, as amended, entitled "Streets
and Sidewalks/Naming of Streets and Numbering of Buildings/Names of Drives and Roads", is
amended in the following particulars:{1 }

Sec. 54-130. Names of drives and roads.

(c) The thoroughfare formerly known as Southwest 15th Road between Southwest 1 lth
Street and Brickell Avenue shall be called Broadway.

(G) (d) All roads shall derive their names from the streets or avenues at which they shall
commence, except as otherwise named in this section.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of this Ordinance to the United States
Postal Service, the Traffic and Transportation Section of the Miami -Dade County Public Works
Department, and the City Departments of Police, Public Works, Solid -Waste and Fire -Rescue.
Section 4. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances insofar as they are inconsistent or in conflict with
the provisions of this Ordinance are repealed.
Section 5. If any section, part of section, paragraph, clause, phrase of work of this Ordinance is
declared invalid, the remaining provisions of this Ordinance shall not be affected,
Section 6. This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after final reading and adoption
thereof. {2}

{2} This Ordinance shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Ordinance, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective date
stated herein, whichever is later.
