Consideration of an Ordinance amending Ordinance 11000, as amended, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Miami, by amending Article 9, Section 906 of the Zoning Ordinance, in order to modify the requirements concerning Home Occupations in R-4, Commercial and Special Districts; containing a repealer provision, a severability clause and providing for an effective date. Approval. The proposed amendment is in order to allow greater flexibility in home occupation uses located within residences in nonresidential zoning districts. In recent years, new development has been struggling with how to allow for work/live units within mixed use projects in certain zoning districts throughout the city. This ordinance allows for greater percentages of residential units to be utilized for home occupations and would thus encourage live/work options in these recently approved projects; subject to special permits and limiting conditions. 04-01179 Recommended approval to VOTE: 7-1 City Commission.
