HomeMy WebLinkAbouthistory of itemTransferring 30th year CDBG funds History of Item: On June 10, 2004, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 04-0378 allocating Community Development Block Grant funds for Economic Development to Small Business Opportunity Center, Inc. ("SBOC") for Districts 3 and District 4. The Board of Directors for SBOC resigned in the month of October. Unable to enter into a 30th year contract with SBOC, the Department of Community Development issued a request for proposal ("RFP") to implement the Commercial Facade and Commercial Code Compliance programs of the City of Miami for Districts 3 and 4 that were previously allocated to SBOC. The RFP was released on October 12, 2004 with a submission deadline of October 25, 2004. A pre -hid conference was also advertised and scheduled to assist agencies with the RFP process and application. The RFP produced a total of four funding requests. Pierre Toussant Haitian Center 40 , 40 40 Ineligible Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc. / Pierre Toussant Haitian Center did not meet the minimum requirement of 70 points; therefore was deemed ineligible. The ineligible applicant was formally advised, in writing, of the proposal's determination of ineligibility and of the applicant's right to appeal the determination. Agencies recommended for funding by the Administration include the two highest scored applications for each district. The remaining balance of $105,000 is recommended to be allocated to the City of Miami Commercial Facade Program for actual construction costs to be paid directly to the contractor.
