Mr. Robert Lavernua, Chief of Land Development

Dear Mr. Lavcrnia:
Reference: SOHO Residential High Rise, NE 23 St & Ave, Miami, FL
June 24, 2004
Natural gas of sufficient capacity is available for this new -luxury high rise. The natural gas lines run along
NE 23' Terrace. You c:an receive a natural gas service line at no cost if you have a sufficient gas load to
meet our feasibility study. Most of the new luxury high rises have central gas boilers for their domestic hot
water. Central boilers make more sense for the following reasons:
1. You gain as extra closet and more square footage in each unit.
2. You have plenty of hot water, instead of the limitations of the 30-120 gallon electric water heaters.
3. No more stale odor of stagnant water that accumulates in the electric water heater of absentee tenants.
4. Construction costs savings for the developer and energy savings for your condominium unit owners.
You can utilize natural gas for domestic water heating, pool heating, laundry service. cooking and bilking,
caroling, desiccant dchu nidifcarior., and power generation,. Natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel
in the world and it can meet t your enere ' needs at 15-30% savings over electricity.
In order to provide you with your natural gas service lines and meter sets in a timely manner we need the
following inforrnatior. and materials:
1. Site plan of property, drawn to Scale, showing the location Lind number of gas meters required. (The
National Fuel Gas Code NFPA 54 requires that meters be located with a minimum clearance of 3 feet
from sources of ignition or building openings, such as doors, windows, or vents.)
2. The plumbing; isometrics, which list all the gas equipment and their British thermal Unit (BTU), input
load. The BtU load is necessary in order to properly size your service lines and meters.
It normally takes 4-6 weeks of planning and permitting to install your gas service line and meter, so please
_plan accordingly. We need to install the service lines between 24-36 inches below the ground. The high-
pressure service lines cannot be located under a building. It can be located under sidewalks, asphalt
landscaping, etc....
1 hope this information is helpful. Please call me with any questions.
