Department Requesting Agenda Item: Capital Improvements and Transportation
1. Subject: FEMA Road Rehabilitation Project, B-40656
2. Purpose of item: To increase the construction contract amount by $120,000, from
$1,595,658 to $1,715,658, to cover the additional unforeseen work and complete the
project as per its original scope.
3. History of item: During the course of the project, a discrepancy in the existing
elevations of the design plans was revealed, causing the redesign of the original
pavement and drainage improvements. This action inadvertently caused additional work
on the swales, sidewalks and driveway elevations not originally identified to be
performed on the project.
4. Does this item correlate with the CIP plan or Strategic Plan? If so, how?
Yes, this action is necessary to complete the project as originally soaped and is funded
in the CIP plan.
5. Does this item have any effect on residents within the City of Miami? If so, how?
Yes, this item will enable the residents to have a complete project with proper drainage
and access to private property.
6. Will this item impact any specific District? If so, which one?
This Item will positively improve the drainage in the affected are of District One.
7. Does this item have any fiscal impact? (please provide dollar amount)
Funds for this increase are budgeted in CIP No. 313855. No FEMA funds will be
utilized.
