Improvements and Transportation 1. Subject: Cooperative Project Agreement with rickell Main Strait, LLLP, the Developer of Mary Bricked Village for a new public plaza a d road improvements, and ratification of emergency to allow use of Developers engines and contractor 2. Purpose of item: To authorize the City Ma alter to execute an agreement with the Developer for a cooperative project wherein th City will contribute funds not to exceed $1,000,000 for roadway improvements within t a public rights -of -way (up to $1300,O00) and to create a new public plaza (up to i400, 00). The Developer would design and construct all Improvements. subject to the 1ty's approval, In order to utilize the Developer's engineering firm and contracto the City's Manager's finding of en emergency must be ratified and approved to all w the selection of these firms to perform public works outside of the normal competitive procurement and selection processes. 3. History of item: Like other cooperative projects such as the One Miami river walk and the SW 2264 Court improvements adjacent to thazi Aston, the Developer of the Mary Ericksll Village development seeks the City's participation in a cooperative project. The development consists of 382 residential unite and 197,000 sf of commercial space and supports the City's goal of creating market -rate ousing near Downtown. The Administration hes determined that the coopsrat ve project serves s a bona fide public propose, aand that the Improvements funded by t e City will be owned by the City. The Developer will further maintain the public plaza in perpetuity. 4. Does this item correlate with the GIP plan or Strategic Plan? if so, how? This item is consistent with the City's capital Improvement Plan and the Downtown Miami Master Plan, 5. Does this Item have any effect on residents within the City of Miami? If so, how? Residents will benefit from the roadway improvements on the specified streets end will enjoy a new urban resting and gathering place. 8. Will this item impact any specific District? If so, which One? This will impact primarily impact District 2, but the roadway improvements will positively benefit all City and area residents that travel to downtown along this route. 7. Does this item have any fiscal impact?
