HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolutionlb II City of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us File Number: 04-01340 Final Actinn Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "2004-2005 OUT - OF -SCHOOL TIME PROGRAM" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $77,500, FOR THE OPERATION OF SAID FUND, CONSISTING OF GRANT AWARDS FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, BUREAU OF CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAMS ("STATE") TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF FOOD TO THE PARTICIPANTS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI'S 2004- 2005 OUT -OF -SCHOOL TIME PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH THE STATE FOR SAID PROGRAM; AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF THE GRANT AWARDS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of Parks and Recreation sponsors an Out -of - School Time Program ("Program") at ten (10) park locations serving 605 children per day resulting in an estimated total of 127,050 snacks being served during the program; and WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Health, Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs ("State"), administers the United States Department of Agriculture's Child Care Food Program, which provides reimbursements for the cost of providing snacks for children participating in such programs; and WHEREAS, through said program, the State will provide funding at a rate of $.61 per snack per participant, resulting in a grant in the approximate amount of $77,500; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as described below: FUND TITLE: 2004-2005 Out -Of -School Time Program RESOURCES: Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Child Nutrition Programs $77,500 APPROPRIATIONS: Department of Parks and Recreation Out -of -School Time Program $77,500 Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with the State, for said Program and to execute the necessary documents to implement acceptance of said grants. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:'/ Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
